Don Giovanni: Short Synopsis
Don Giovanni, a playful aristocrat, goes to Anna’s house for a night crawl. She makes a fuss. He gets into a duel with Anna’s father, the Knight Commander, and kills him. But he doesn’t care. That same night, he picks up another woman, and it is Elvira, his old girlfriend.
He seduces a village girl, Zerlina. In the middle of his seduction, he is interrupted by Elvira. People around him notice Giovanni’s philandering. He seduces Elvira’s maid of honor. The people around him are outraged by Giovanni’s behavior.
At midnight, as Giovanni and Leporello rest in the cemetery, the statue of the Commendatore begins to move. Giovanni invites him to dinner. He comes to Giovanni’s house. He asks him to repent for his deeds, which Giovanni refuses to do. Giovanni is engulfed in flames and falls into hell.
