L’elisir d’amore, The Elixir of Love: Short Synopsis
Nemorino, a simple peasant, is in love with Adina, a wealthy landowner. She tells him to find a new love. A regiment arrives in the village. Nemorino is impatient because the sergeant, Belcore, is approaching Adina.
At the same time, Dulcamara, an itinerant medicine man, is in town. Nemorino buys a “love potion” (wine) from him. Nemorino believes in the love potion and is different from usual. Adina is puzzled by him.
Adina admits her love for him and becomes a lover with Nemorino.
