Così fan tutte: Short Synopsis
While Guglielmo and Ferrando talk about how wonderful their lovers are, the philosopher says that women are not chaste. The philosopher and they make a bet as to whether or not their lovers will cheat on them.
Fiordiligi and Dorabella love them. They pretend to leave as soldiers and come back pretending to be someone else. They swap their love interests and seduce the sisters. The girls do not take them up on their offer. The philosopher enlists Despina, the sisters’ maid, to join them so that the love game will work.
With Despina’s help, the sisters accept their proposal. Guglielmo and Ferrando return as soldiers. The lovers return to their original relationship.
